About PDXFOOD.ORG
PDXFOOD.ORG is a volunteer-driven project focused on making it easier for Portland neighbors to find no-cost groceries, community fridges, and free meal programs. We believe that food access is a fundamental right, and accurate information is a key part of supporting the networks that keep our city fed.
What We Do
- Curate an up-to-date map of food pantries, community fridges, and meal sites across the Portland metro area.
- Collaborate with frontline organizers to capture hours, access guidelines, and seasonal updates.
- Share resources with mutual aid groups, social workers, and community advocates who connect neighbors to food support.
Why It Matters
Finding reliable food support can be difficult, especially when hours or eligibility requirements change. By centralizing information, PDXFOOD.ORG saves time for guests, reduces strain on volunteers, and helps ensure that donated food reaches the people who need it.
If you operate a pantry or fridge, or notice something that is out of date, please reach out so we can keep the map current.
New Features Coming Soon
We’re proud of what PDXFOOD.ORG has acheived so far, but we’re not slowing down. Soon you’ll be able to submit new locations or flag changes like new hours or a different entrance with a quick, friendly form right on the map. We’re also adding photos to every listing so folks know exactly what to look for when they arrive.
Behind the scenes we’re building a process for volunteers to give each listing a regular checkup, keeping the map grounded in fresh, local knowledge. These updates will make the information found on PDXFOOD.ORG as accurate as possible.
